Current and prospective students will be happy to know that Ryan Orr, the student activities coordinator at NPC, is working to increase the number of student clubs and events at the college. “It’s a challenge for commuter colleges to generate student involvement, but we’re working to create a hub of culture and enhance the student experience.”
NPC’s Student Government Association (SGA) is assisting Orr in this effort. SGA member Cuitlahuac Aguilar says, “Joining the SGA and being an active participant goes a long way toward making ideas a reality. And, one of the many perks of being involved in extra-curricular activities is that it looks good on a résumé. Being involved in collegiate clubs and organizations can indicate to a potential employer that you are able to work effectively with others to achieve common goals. Plus, it’s a great way to make friends and have fun.”
